Announcement - Frequently Asked Questions
Beginning in 2011, eXpresso will no longer be offered as a standalone service and will be available only through partner integrations. For example, eXpresso will be integrated with IBM's LotusLive™ business collaboration platform to provide online editing of both IBM Lotus® Symphony™ and Microsoft Office® documents. This service is expected to be generally available during the first quarter of 2011. In anticipation of this change, eXpresso will immediately stop accepting new registrations. Existing users of the service can continue to use eXpresso until December 31, 2010.
Why is eXpresso suspending registrations?
eXpresso will soon be available exclusively through partner integrations, so new registrations directly with eXpresso are temporarily suspended.
How will current eXpresso users be affected?
The eXpresso service will be available for current customers to use until December 31, 2010. Prior to that date, users of the service should sign in and download any files that you wish to retain.eXpresso will no longer charge monthly or annual renewal fees for the service, but will keep it available to existing users through December.
We hope that current eXpresso users will consider IBM’s LotusLive as a powerful and easy to implement collaboration platform. More information about eXpresso about features to be supported within LotusLive will be sent as soon as it becomes available. There will be a gap in time between the end of the eXpresso service, and it's availability within other platforms. Customers should select a collaboration alternative for this time.
How can I get my information out of the system?
File owners or anyone with full edit rights to a file can download a copy of it to a local machine. Simply click the check box next to the file or files that you wish to download and then choose Download from the upper right toolbar. You will be prompted to select a local location for the file(s). If you do not own a file and do not have full edit rights, but believe that the content needs to be extracted from eXpresso, please contact the file owner. Files will be available for download until December 31, 2010.
After shared files are downloaded, we recommend that they be deleted from eXpresso or that the sharing relationships be removed so that others do not make changes to the file after it has been downloaded.
What happens to my files after the service ends?
Files will be available for download until December 31, 2010. File owners can also delete files from the system prior to that date if they would like. After December 31, all customer data held by eXpresso will be destroyed.
Will There Be Discounts for eXpresso Customers?
Although pricing details for our partner integrations are not yet available, eXpresso will provide discounts to our customers on fees for the eXpresso service. However, we are not able to provide discounts on the services provided by our partners. Check back here for more information.
