Why do customers choose eXpresso?

Spreadsheets represent one of the most popular applications on the planet. This is because they are the reporting and analysis tool of choice for many professionals and because they support collaboration and information sharing.

However, no matter the popularity of spreadsheets they also, used improperly or incorrectly, or without sufficient control, pose a greater threat to your business than almost anything you can imagine. They can give rise to compliance issues because changes to data are not audited. They can also be used to aid and abet fraud, because security is not applied to conventional spreadsheets and, again, because there is no control over the ability to change data values.

Is eXpresso a new Spreadsheet Application?

No. eXpresso is not an on-line spreadsheet replacement for Excel. Rather than providing a new spreadsheet application with new commands and user functions, eXpresso takes advantage of the fact that millions of people are already using Excel. Those people don't want to replace Excel; they want to make it more conducive to the way they do business.

What software do I need to use eXpresso?

eXpresso is a hosted application which means all you need to use eXpresso is an Excel license and a web browser with Internet Explorer 6 or later. Can I work on my spreadsheets when I am not connected to the Internet?

Sure. You can download  eXpresso Offline for Excel which is an add-in that allows you to open spreadsheets in Excel on your desktop. You can work on them and then synchronize them with eXpresso when you are back online.

Must I have a particular version of Excel?

eXpresso is compatible with Office 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007.  eXpresso supports .xls files.  Therefore, users of Office 2007 will need to save their spreadsheets as Excel 97-2003 Workbooks before uploading them to eXpresso.

How do I know that my information is secure?

eXpresso utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. We provide you with a unique user name and password that must be entered each time you log on. In addition, eXpresso is hosted in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.

Additionally, eXpresso utilizes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.  SSL protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to you or those you have authorized.

Can I share a spreadsheet with someone who is not a registered eXpresso user?

Yes. You can simply enter the email address of the person you would like to access your spreadsheet. They will receive an email with your invitation and instructions on how to complete a free eXpresso registration.

Can two or more people edit the same spreadsheet at the same time?

Yes. The sophisticated technology behind eXpresso allows simultaneous editing by multiple users. You can even use eXpresso's chat feature to have a conversation about the spreadsheet while you are working on it. These chats are attached to the spreadsheet and saved for future reference.

When I share a spreadsheet, is it sent in an email?

No. eXpresso does not email spreadsheets. Instead, it sends a link to the spreadsheet to those you invite. This way, you are in control of who can access your spreadsheet and what privileges or "roles" they are assigned.
