eXpresso is available in its basic version, eXpresso Open, at no cost. eXpresso Pro, the product's professional-grade version, is available under free 30-day trial as well as paid subscription; the versions can be installed from the Salesforce.com AppExchange Web site, www.salesforce.com/appexchange.

Real-Time, Flexible
Once downloaded, eXpresso allows Salesforce.com users to access and edit their Excel spreadsheets from within the Salesforce.com environment, simply by clicking on the eXpresso tab on the Salesforce dashboard. Spreadsheets can be created or updated using Salesforce data, and files can be shared and/or simultaneously viewed and edited in real time with any number of invitees.

Collaboration is a hallmark of the eXpresso experience. Users may hold live online meetings to discuss and update spreadsheets; rights may be extended to invitees on the fly to "view only," or to edit, spreadsheet files. Even more, eXpresso can be configured to send alerts to a person's Salesforce dashboard or email when designated users access or change a spreadsheet.

Because spreadsheets are stored at eXpresso, rather than on any one user's hard drive, files are always accessible from any Web-enabled workstation. Latest versions of sales figures, marketing plans or other key spreadsheets are always up to date, and distribution challenges are eliminated.
