Getting Started

Software Requirements

eXpresso is a hosted application, which means all you need to use eXpresso is an Excel® license with the Office Web Components installed and a Internet Explorer browser with an Internet connection. There is no additional software to install on your desktop.

Excel

eXpresso is compatible with Office 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007. eXpresso supports .xls files.  Therefore, users of Office 2007 will need to save their spreadsheets as Excel 97-2003 Workbooks before uploading them to eXpresso.

Internet Explorer

Due to the exclusive support of Microsoft Excel® and the use of Office Web Components, eXpresso currently requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or later for full functionality.  Firefox users can download the IE tab for Mozilla/Firefox by taking the following action:

Step 1:

Download & Install IE Tab Version 1.3.3.20070528 for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/1419 

Step 2:

Add the following URL to your IE Tab options in Firefox (In Firefox go to Tools==>IE Tab Options): https://my.expressospreadsheets.com/*

Office Web Components

Microsoft"s Office Web Components are powerful web controls that preserve much of the power and interactivity of Excel and allow eXpresso developers to expand on its base functionality without sacrificing any of our innovative Web 2.0 functionality. If you are running Office 2000, XP or 2003, the Office Web Components are probably already installed. Office 2007 does not ship with Office Web Components. However, regardless of which version of Microsoft Office you are using, we recommend you download and install the latest version of the Office Web Components here. To verify that eXpresso is using the latest version of Office Web Components, click on the colored Microsoft logo in the upper-left corner of your spreadsheet control in eXpresso's Open Spreadsheet view: x

The current latest version of OWC is Version 12.x (e.g. 12.0.0.4518).  If you have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of OWC and do not see Version 12.x displayed in the above window contact us for assistance.

Registration

eXpresso takes just minutes to set up and requires no training. Simply register and get your free account now. Enter a valid email address and the password of your choice. Select the box to agree to the terms of service by clicking on the "Create My Account" button. You will receive an email that will validate your address and provide you with a link to login to eXpresso. It is also a good idea to begin by taking the eXpresso Product Tour.

Security

eXpresso has measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under our control. eXpresso implements an advanced security method based on dynamic data and encoded session identifications, and hosts the Site in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. eXpresso provides unique user names and passwords that must be entered each time a customer logs on. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of data.  In addition, eXpresso uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology as an additional level of assurance.  To learn more, read our Privacy and Security Policy.
