Limitations of Microsoft Office Web Components

eXpresso utilizes Microsoft's Office Web Components for online viewing and editing of spreadsheets.  Not all of the features of Excel are supported by the Office Web Components and are, therefore, not available when using eXpresso's online interface. 

eXpresso Offline Add-in for Excel

To address this, we have provided an add-in for Excel, which will allow you to view and edit your spreadsheets that are stored in eXpresso directly from your desktop Excel application.  If you use the add-in, all of the features of Excel, with the exception of linked spreadsheets, are supported.    When you share the spreadsheet, your contacts will need to open the spreadsheet using the add-in to have access to these special features.  To learn more, view our Quick Guide to the eXpresso Add-in for Excel.   • Text wrapping
  • Protected Areas
  • Special characters in sheet names
  • Pivot Tables
  • Split and Freeze Panes
  • Printing
  • Charts & Graphs
  • Images
  • Data Validation
  • Conditional Formatting
  • Embedded Objects
  • Hyperlinks
  • Comments

Note: Formulas that link to other workbooks will result in errors in both the online interface and the Add-in for Excel.  This will be addressed in a future release of eXpresso.
